The Central Board of Secondary Education is a Board of Education for public and private institutions, under the Union Government of India. It was made in the year 1929. The main objective of board to develop norms for implementation of various academic activities including quality issues; to control and coordinate the implementation of various academic and training programmes of the Board; to organize academic activities and Offer quality education, to promote academic, to increase social and cultural understanding of the individual. More than 16,000 associated schools in India and across 24 other countries of the world allied to the CBSE. It is the largest and oldest board of higher education in India.

CBSE being the most prominent board in India is favoured over some other board. It has 10 provincial offices (Delhi, Chennai, Guwahati, Ajmer, Patna, Bhubaneswar, Dehradun, Allahabad, Panchkula and Thiruvanthnanthpuram). It leads examination consistently in spring for All India Senior School Certificate Examination (AISSCE) for class 10 and 12. This board offshoots all schools of Kendriya vidyalayas, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, and schools which are endorsed by central administration of India.
