NIOS 10th Date Sheet 2017
National Institute of Open Schooling is called NIOS. It is amongst the world’s largest open schooling. NIOS was formed by Ministry of Human Resource Development; Government of India, in the year 1989. It was established with the purpose to provide the educational needs of the school drop-outs, children out of school and socially and economical backward section of the learner population.
Owing to the importance of education as well as the necessities for survival of human being National Institute of Open Schooling was formed. Today it is offering it is providing a large number of Vocational, Life Enrichment and community oriented courses besides General and Academic Courses at Secondary and Senior Secondary level.
Today, with the enrollment of approximately 15,00,000 students, NIOS has become the one of the largest Open Schooling systems in the world. The institute’s main aim is to make education reachable to the students by breaking all the physical, mental, economical or geographical or any other obstacles. NIOS board is working hard for making a remarkable contribution in India’s efforts for Universal Elementary Education and for that they are working on its foundation courses and linking up with Non-formal Education and Alternative Schooling system operating in the country. The institute is now making the use of the new technologies for training and teaching purposes. It is mainly done to increase access and ensure quality of education.
The NIOS generally conducts the Secondary Course examination which is equivalent to Class 10th twice in a year by the month of March or April and October or November. The board also issues a date sheet with information like the seat numbers, time of examination, centers and details of the subject two month prior to the final examination. The date sheet for the year 2017 has not been issued but it will soon be available on the official website of the NIOS board. The exam schedule is likely to be announced in January or February 2017. Note: The language subjects are Bengali, Marathi, Telugu, Gujarati, Kannada, Punjabi, Assamese, Nepali, Malayalam, Odiya, Arabic, Persian, Tamil.
For the NIOS Secondary Course students will have to prepare minimum 5 subjects with at least one language or utmost two languages and the rest three or four subjects from Mathematics, Science and Technology, Social Science, Economics, BST, Home Science, Data Entry Operation, Psychology, India Culture & Heritage, Painting.
Although there is ample of time left for the exam but the students are advised to keep up their preparation so that they can score good marks. The time table for NIOS Class 10th 2017 will be available on the official website www.nios.ac.in shortly. It can be downloaded from there or can also be get from the NIOS office.
