Post Matric Scholarships
The main objective of the scheme of scholarship related to Post Matric Studies in India for General Subjects is to provide assistance of financial nature to the Scheduled Caste students who are studying at post-secondary stage or post matriculation to enable them to complete their education in a successful manner. This particular scholarship is readily available for studies in India only. It is wholeheartedly awarded by the government of the Union Territory administration/ State to which the applicant actually permanently settled or belongs.
This Post Matric scholarship comes with maintenance allowance, study tour charges, reimbursement of compulsory non-refundable fees, book allowance for students pursuing correspondence courses, thesis typing/printing charges for Research Scholars, bank facility for specified courses plus additional allowance for students with disabilities.
Eligibility for Post Matric Scholarship Scheme 2017
• The applicant should be an Indian citizen.
• The applicant who passed Xth class examination is treated as equivalent to Matriculation plus students who after passing Xth class join other courses, such students will be treated as post-matric students and will be eligible for the award of particular scholarships.
Age Limit: The applicants should be below the age of 35 at the time applying.
Fee for Application: There is no application fee.
In the prescribed Performa, candidates must apply for the above mentioned Fellowship on plain paper with one recent passport size photograph. All the requisite documents should be attested and furnished along with the application form before the last date. The applicant are advised to read all the given rules and regulation plus instruction related to Post Matric Scholarship before applying for the same under any given situations, circumstances and conditions.
The letter for personal interview after their given applications are well-scrutinized are sent only to a limited number of selected candidate by the state/ Union Territory’s Government appointed high level committee with experts from the Education Departments. The decision of the committee is treated as final. No correspondence on the selection process will be entertained from the public and applicant under any reason.
The official notification appears in the month of March/April and last date of submission will be in the second week of May. There may be changes in the dates in certain years depending on the prevailing political or economic situations, circumstances and conditions prevailing in the nation.

In case if send an advanced copy of prescribed application then it must be complete in all aspects. An employed person should forward their application through proper channel. The application should be filled in with bold and capital letters. The application form should be accompanied with all the requisite documents and its related papers from the concerned authorities. The documents should be attested and pinned in order as mentioned in the official notification. In the application form, any column that is not suitable should be marked as Nil.
