Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan Scholarship
Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan is a Deemed University located in New Delhi. It was set-up in a successful manner by the Government of India for promotion and propagation of one of the ancient language of India that is the Sanskrit language. This particular University awards scholarship of financial assistance to enthusiastic students of Sanskrit colleges, Higher Secondary School/High School/ Mahavidyalaya/ Pathashalas. On the other hand, Regular students continuing higher course of studies in Sanskrit language including Prakrit/ Pali in any recognized modern institutions and traditional Pathshalas in Secondary/Senior Secondary Schools from 9th to 12th standard and the levels of Ph.D./ Vidyavaridhi/ Post Graduation/ Acharya/ Graduation/ Shastri.
The details for grant of Scholarship are as follows:
• Class 9th and 10th standard/Purva -Madhyama or equivalent courses with Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit as a paper of at-least 100 marks.
Eligibility: The applicant must have passed the previous examination of the respective class with a minimum of 60% marks and also 60% in the concerned subject i.e. in Prakrit/ Sanskrit/Pali.
Scholarship value: Rs.250/-p.m. for 10 months
• Class 11th and 12th standard/Prak/Shastri/Uttarmadhyama and equivalent courses with Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit as a paper of at-least 100 marks.
Eligibility: The applicant must have passed the previous examination of the respective class with a minimum of 60% marks and also 60% in the concerned subject i.e. in Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit.
Scholarship value: Rs.300/-p.m. for 10 months
• Shastri/Graduaton/B.A./B.A.(Hons.) and equivalent course of three years duration with Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit as a subject of at least 100 marks.
Eligibility: The applicant must have passed Plus 2 level examination with a minimum 60% marks or equivalent in the aggregate and also in Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit.
Scholarship value: Rs. 400/- p.m. for 10 months
• Acharya/M.A. Degree in Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit and its equivalent Post-Graduation Degree.
Eligibility: The applicant must have passed Graduation with at-least 60% marks in the aggregate in Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit.
Scholarship value: Rs.500/-p.m. for 10 months
• Vidyavaridhi/Ph.D and equivalent in Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit.
Eligibility: The applicant must have passed Acharya or M.A. in Sanskri/Pali/Prakrit with at-least 60% marks in the aggregate.
Scholarship value: Rs.1500/-p.m. +Rs.2000/- per year as contingent for two years.
It is to be remembered that the student of Vidyavaridhi/Ph.D. and equivalent courses shall also be entitled for a contingency grant of Rs.2000/- per annum for two years. On the other hand, the number of scholarship to be largely awarded each year purely depends on the ready availability of funds. It is to be highly remembered that relaxation for minimum percentage of marks for the applicants belonging to the categories are:
• SC/ST – 50%
• OBC – 55%
• Physically Handicapped – 50%
Age Limit: The candidate should be below the age of 33 years. There is two years age relaxation given for SC/ST candidates.
Application Fee: Application fee is not required
Applying Process: The candidates are requested to send in duly typed applications as per the given performa, on plain paper accompanied by attested copies of testimonials and carrying necessary sponsorship from employer.
Selection Process: The selection process involves selecting the meritorious candidates based on merit and then personally interviewing them by a high level committee appointed by the said University for this particular purpose.
Important Dates: The official notification is published in all leading newspapers, Employment News and vernacular newspaper during the month of July.
