TIFAC Women Scientist Scholarship
Technology Information forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC) functions under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India with a lot of perfection. This particular council offers Women Scientist Scholarship Scheme for women having Science/Medicine/Engineering or allied areas qualifications. This scholarship is offered for a period of just one year. The said council keenly interested in largely retaining the scientific skills and talents of women who are permanent resident of India seeking pursuits in scientific aspects and keen to best encourages women to work particularly from their residence plus enabling them to perfectly draw a good right balance between domestic and professional demands in the given society. On behalf of DST, the scheme is being implemented and coordinated by Patent Facilitating Centre (PFC) of Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC).
Scholarship value: The scholarship will be largely admissible for a period of one year and the amount of scholarship will be Rs.17,500 per month for PhD/ MTech/ MPharma/ MVSc/ MS/ MD or equivalent or Rs. 12,500 per month for candidates having MSc/ BTech/ MBBS/ BPharma or equivalent qualification.
Eligibility for TIFAC Women Scientist Scholarship: The applicants should have passed PhD/ MTech/ MPharma/ MVSc/ MS/ MD/ MSc/ BTech/ MBBS/ BPharma or equivalent qualification with good percentage of marks. She should be a citizen of India.
Age limit: A candidate should not be more than 50 years of age on the date of advertisement.
Application Fee: Application fee is not required
Applying Process: The candidates are requested to send in duly typed applications as per the given performa, on plain paper accompanied by attested copies of testimonials and carrying necessary sponsorship from employer.
Selection Process: The selection process involves selecting the meritorious candidates based on merit and then personally interviewing them by a high level committee appointed by the said department for this particular purpose.
Important Date: The official notification for the TIFAC WOS-C is published in all leading newspapers, Employment News and vernacular newspaper during the months of October or November. The last date for submission of application form is in the third week of December.
